Invitation to the conference on cyber threats: “Battling a Common Enemy” (Brussels)

Mr. Antanas Guoga, Member of the European Parliament, would like to kindly invite you to the “Battling a Common Enemy” conference on how to tackle cyber threats.

We are in the midst of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which brings the promise of greater productivity. The new economy will rely upon a hyper-connectivity that provides the automated execution of tasks with a speed that was previously inconceivable. That hyper-connectivity, however, involves great risk. In the face of an attack, organizations must be able to respond with agility and sustain core operations.

In December 2015, the European Parliament and the Council reached a political agreement on the Network and Information Security Directive. What does that mean in practice? What will change and how are businesses getting ready? What are the next steps to be taken and what other proposals will the Commission put in the table in June?

Learn more about all of this at the event, which will take place on 23 February 2016 in the European Parliament (Simone Veil entrance, Place du Luxembourg, Brussels, Belgium). EU institutions and private sector representatives will consider possibilities for joint responses to the dramatic escalation of cyber risk. Industry experts and lead policy makers will share their views on how organizations can mitigate cyber risk and build resilience.

To RSVP, please email [email protected] or [email protected]. If you don’t have a badge to enter the European Parliament, please indicate your full name, date of birth, nationality, type of ID and ID number.
